Rose McGowan

"Rose", born on September 5, 1973 is an American actress. After
making her film debut with her brief appearance in the comedy Encino Man
(1992), McGowan received more attention for her role in the dark comedy The Doom
Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
Best Debut Performance. McGowan's debut came in the horror film Scream in the
year 1996. In the following years, she was the lead actress in Jawbreaker
(1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998), and Going All the Way (1997). During the
2000s, McGowan became known to the public via her role in the role of Paige
Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). McGowan was
later cast in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film
Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated to win the Saturn Award for Best
Actress as well as the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. The album she
released her debut album on, Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed
by a repackaging of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as the
Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She made a
statement against sexual harassment and assault and specifically the Harvey
Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In 2018, she published Brave an autobiography,
and appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
