Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born on May 3, 1986. She attended the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her roles include Loup (2009) as well as Sleepless Night (2011). She plays the character of Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to an Korean mother and French-Russian father who was employed as a consul in the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Because it sounds similar to the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents gave their daughter the name Pom. Klementieff stayed in Canada for a time of one year, before her family traveled extensively due to her father's job. They lived in Japan and the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. The father of Klementieff died from cancer when she was just 5, and her mother had schizophrenia and could not care for children which is why Klementieff was raised by her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, whom she called "like her father", died at age 18. Klementieff's older brother, who committed suicide seven years later, was also her aunt. After the death of her uncle Klementieff was a law student for a brief time to impress her aunt. However, she did not consider the profession appealing. In France she was employed as a waitress and salesperson. She began acting when was 19and attended the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. After a few months of studies, she won an acting competition which awarded the opportunity to take classes for free for two years with the school's best teachers. Her first acting gig professionally was in the French independent film Apres lui (2007), playing the stepdaughter to the protagonist as played by Catherine Deneuve. The filming process was a three-day process. Klementieff was supposed to push another person down a set staircase, but she accidentally fell down. Gael Mostl kept the shot in the final film. Loup (2009) was her first lead role in a film. It's an French movie about a tribe of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. The filming took place in a campthat was a few hours away from the nearest village where temperatures dropped to below zero.
